Course Overview:
First you’ll be introduced to the principles of deliberate practice in therapy training, then you'll learn about using routine symptom measurement in therapy, also known as routine outcome monitoring. The heart of the course is the opportunity to practice and receive feedback in a simulated environment with multiple real world scenarios. At the end of the course, you will be given a post-test to ensure that you have learned the skills. Passing this test is required to receive CE credit.
On-Demand Deliberate Practice Skill 1 (testing) is the 1st in a series of sequential skills for effective therapy based on the TEAM-CBT model created by Dr. David Burns and on the book Deliberate Practice of TEAM-CBT authored by Maor Katz, MD and Mike Christensen. Each skill in the hub offers an opportunity to practice in a simulated therapy environment with multiple scenarios using natural speech, AI based feedback, and ability to try again or move to the next scenario. Each skill in the hub is structured as a separate on-demand CE Course, we recommend following the skills in consecutive order.
Some basics in knowledge of TEAM-CBT is required to participate in the exercises. If you are not yet level 1 certified, please take the Crash Course in Core Skills For Effective Therapy before beginning any of these exercises. You can find the Crash Course in your dashboard.
Skill 1 (testing): Introducing Symptom Measurement to Patients is a 1.5 hour, AI practice and feedback based home study course. You will practice introducing routine symptom measurement to patients. Eligible license types may earn 1.5 CEs.
